Netgear wifi extender setup

The best way to improve the range and speed of your current WiFi is to set up a Netgear wifi extender. A basic router might be able to reach a small house or apartment with wifi, but it might not be able to reach a larger property. Because of this, there will be places in bigger homes where you can’t get online. A WiFi range extender can help you solve this problem. After you finish Netgear wifi extender setup, it will rebroadcast the WiFi signals from your router throughout your home, giving you WiFi in every room.

Netgear wifi extender setup can be done in one of two ways:

  • Manual setup (Web browser setup).
  • wireless protected setup (WPS).

Netgear extender setup using WPS

If you have a Netgear extender and are having trouble setting it up manually, you might want to try wireless protected setup (WPS), a new way to set up your wifi repeater that takes only two minutes and is considered the fastest and easiest way to do so. You don’t have to type in your password, username, or SSID. You must also press a small button on both your extender and your router.

To set up your Netgear Extender with WPS, follow the steps below:

  • Turn your Netgear Extender on.
  • It needs to be put near the router.
  • Look for the WPS push button on the side of the booster.
  • Use WPS to solve the problem.
  • On the router, press the same WPS button.
  • Wait until the repeater flashes three times in a row.
  • If it shows three steady green lights, it means that the connection between your Netgear extender and router is working.
  • Now, take your extension off and plug it back in at the dead spot.
